Jordon Sage selected to NASA Moon Buggy Team

Jordan Sage PhotoFort Cobb, OK – February 27, 2013 – Jordon Sage (Binger) attended the Pre-Engineering Academy at CKTC as a junior and senior in high school. When she graduated in 2012, she received the renewable university scholar tuition scholarship to SWOSU, plus other merit-based scholarships.

Sage is now majoring in Engineering Technology, and has already received several honors during her short-time at SWOSU. She feels her many scholarships and awards are due to the courses she took at CKTC’s Pre-Engineering Academy.

Most recently, Sage was selected for a NASA Space Grant Scholarship with the FTC Robotics program. Her role will be that of Robot Inspection. Scholarships from this program will be awarded after the FTC State Championship this spring.

In addition to the robotics program, Jordon has been selected to be a part of the SWOSU NASA Moon Buggy team. The team will build a vehicle to compete in a contest on April 24 at Marshall Space Flight Center at Huntsville, Alabama.

Sage was also accepted as a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics mentor by the Department of Education and the Department of Engineering. They have paired one student from each program for the purpose of preparing the education major for a test this summer that would allow them to be able to teach mid-level/intermediate math. She receives an hourly wage, plus scholarships.

As an added bonus, Sage will attend Mission to Planet Earth at OU for 4 days in the summer, and will give a presentation at a workshop. Also, they are put through flight school, and will fly one of the university-owned planes.

Jordon Sage is the daughter of Mark and Dee Sage of Binger, granddaughter of Bob and Betty Sage of Gracemont, and David and LuAnn Kuhlman of Minco.
