Fort Cobb, OK – August 29, 2014 – CKTC was named a Gold Star School at the annual OkACTE Summer Conference held in Tulsa in August 2014. This is the tenth time the school has reached Gold Star School status, meeting stringent requirements based primarily on school-wide performance data in both full-time programs and business and industry services.
The Oklahoma Association of Technology Centers' Gold Star School award program consists of a comprehensive set of criteria which establishes technology centers as exceptional in service to patrons of their communities.
At 89% student placement, CKTC students were well over the required 82.5% minimum criteria for placement in one of the following areas: Jobs for which they trained, continued their education or joined the military.
Another requirement is to serve business and industry by providing at least eight of 19 service areas. CKTC provided 17. Likewise, A Gold Star School must provide five of ten additional services sensitive to the needs of its constituency. CKTC provided eight.
CKTC also exceeded the Gold Star criteria for accountability, strategic planning, student organization participation, career guidance and recruitment, relationships with partner schools, and school board member training.
