Fort Cobb, OK – May 3, 2013 – -Oklahoma Technology Center staff and industry partners converged on the Oklahoma Capitol recently to recognize outstanding businesses who work alongside tech centers to build better Oklahoma communities. Accepting the “Partners for Progress” award given by Caddo Kiowa Technology Center was Caddo Electric Cooperative, Binger, Oklahoma. Representing Caddo Electric at the ceremony was Oscar Codopony, Director of Operations.
Caddo Electric Cooperative first began operations in 1937; and in 1968, when Caddo Kiowa Technology Center opened their doors, a successful partnership ensued. The two organizations have worked together productively for 45 years partnering in areas of training, employment and economic development.
The cooperative has been instrumental in community relations by offering all-expense paid youth tours to Washington DC, scholarships to graduating seniors, and awarding humanitarian assistance through their “Round Up” program.
Most recently, the cooperative has become a vital member of the Washita Valley Regional Partnership to spur economic development in CKTC’s region and beyond.
Caddo Kiowa Technology Center nominated Caddo Electric Cooperative for the prestigious Partners for Progress award for its commitment to the people and communities in the district.
